I recently learned about a company making fabric coupon binder covers that turn your bulky 3 ring binder into a fashionable and easier to tote clutch. Coupon Clutch has a binder cover for every style, from floral designs to animal prints. No one is more proud of the savings that coupons provide than me, but I have to admit I feel awkward toting my over sized binder into the grocery stores. This enviable binder cover elevates a couponer into a savings obsessed fashionista!

These totes are made to fit your standard 2" three ring binder. Purchase a deluxe insert pages and organizer system with your fabric cover and receive a $5 discount! So head over to Coupon Clutch to get yours today.

Creating a Coupon Binder

The key to couponing success lies in the organization. Taking the time to create and maintain a coupon binder will pay off during your shopping trips.
To get started you need:
  •  A large three ring binder
  • Three ring baseball card protector sheets
  • Dividers
  •  First, decide how you want to divide your coupons. Beginners may want to start with just a few categories, and then add more as you obtain and maintain more coupons. Category ideas include dairy, cosmetics, produce, snacks and frozen foods. Place each divider into your binder followed by several baseball card protector sheets. Baseball card sheets work well for couponing because they are clear, allowing you to see your coupons and the card slots are the perfect size for most coupons. I like to arrange my binder sections based on store layout, typically it goes:
  • Produce
  • Dairy
  • Refrigerated (meats, cheeses etc.)
  • Bread
  • Prepared Meals and Sides
  • PB & J
  • Soup
  • Baking/Seasonings
  • Cereal/Fruit Snacks/ Breakfast Goods
  • Soda and Snacks
  • Frozen Foods
Remember to put your name and contact information on the inside of your binder. You will be taking this binder on shopping trips with you so be sure that you can be contacted in case you leave it in the shopping cart. You don't want those hours of clipping to go to wast! A pencil pouch is a useful addition to your coupon binder; equip your pouch with scissors, pencils and a calculator. This allows you to keep all of your couponing tools in one place. The more organized you keep your coupon binder the more likely you are to stick to couponing and see big pay offs at the check-out lane.
